The Events Spreadsheets that Hosts use to login
attendees have been updated and now are more
friendly to small screen devices like laptops.
HOSTs are always advised to go to the website
and download a 'fresh' copy of the spreadsheet
for each event. Updates to these spreadsheets
occur often whenever there's an opportunity for
improvement. Don't miss out on the latest
features. Follow this
link from almost any page on the website.
You can always verify the version you have by
looking for this revision number on tab1.
Tip: The theater spreadsheet has had a
complete redesign. Check the version date
in the upper left-hand corner. If the one
you are about to use is older than 2022-0224,
discard it and get a fresh copy from the
website. You'll be happy you did.

Bill, Randle and I have collaborated on a
Process Improvement related to New Members.
It has two components:
1) A "Welcome Aboard" letter that Bill will
email to a new member after Charlie has
verified qualifications and payment. The
letter welcomes him to the club and provides
some information about the the club.
2) A new webpage dedicated to new members
that is referenced in Bill's letter. The
webpage provides in-depth information about
the club and active links the New Member can
follow.

May 2018 |
The Eagle Eye Committee has slaved away on
the June update. We think we now have an
emerging process for the electronic
Newsletter and Website updates.
Please help by reviewing these pages on the
website. Test the links, look for errors,
typos, etc, and send me any comments,
suggestions or corrections.
1) The Coming Events now has an awesome new
look, thanks to a suggestion from Jeff, our
new Sr. VP. Follow this link:
2) The Newsletter "landing page" is now
where all the Newsletter links in the
website lead to. This is also the page that
members will see when they click on the link
in Randle's eBlast each month announcing the
latest Newsletter. Check it out. We think
it provides a lot of useful info that will
steer members to the latest flyers, and
alert them to any changes.
3) The printable event calendar has the same
format as the coming events page. It will
be included in the last paper NL (June-July)
soon to be mailed out, and in all future
electronic NL's. Check it out:
4) As always, the "What's New" page alerts
members to what's new and updated, and
provides quick links to relevant pages.
Check it out:

April 2018 |
The MMC website has been updated. We continue
to make changes and improvements, helping us
move toward the all electronic environment as
painlessly as possible. A small committee has
been working behind the scenes to restructure
our process. Here's some highlights:
1) The Coming Events page has been
overhauled to make it more user friendly,
with improved organization and display.
Follow this link.
http://marcomensclub.com/coming-events.htm
2) The printable version of the Coming
Events page has a new look. This 9 page
complete calendar of all events will replace
the current 3 month calendar in the
newsletter, starting with the last paper NL
(June-July), and continuing with the monthly
electronic versions. See box in the upper
lefthand corner of the coming events page to
access this pdf.
http://marcomensclub.com/ComingEvents2/MMC-comingEvents.pdf
3) The Newsletter "landing page" has a new
look. This is the page you "land" on when
you click any of the "Newsletter" links
throughout the website. It is also the page
that will be sent in the eBlast that
announces the new Newsletter each month. It
now provides direct links to new and changed
flyers for the month, and other stuff. Take
a look.
http://marcomensclub.com/newsletters.htm
4) The Home page has a box at the top
directing members to the Dues Invoice.
http://marcomensclub.com/index.htm
5) The announcement page advertises some of
these recent changes and provides a link to
the Dues Invoice. http://marcomensclub.com/announcements.htm
6) We have a fairly recent improvement to
the New Member Application. Prospective
members can now choose between the
traditional paper form, or an electronic
version (spreadsheet) where they can enter
their information electronically. This form
automatically verifies that the email
addresses have been entered correctly.
http://marcomensclub.com/join.htm
7) The relatively new "Cruise" page is
proving to be popular among Cruisers. It
provides more info than ever about all
active cruises. Be sure to check it out,
especially f you are going on the ABC cruise
this Saturday . Many of you will want to
print a copy of the beverage package! When
the bartender says the beverage you
requested is not in your Classic Beverage
package, just whip out the list!
http://marcomensclub.com/Cruises.htm
8) The form on the website that members use
to update their information has been
enhanced. It now sends the update
information simultaneously to the Membership
Chairman and the eBlast Manager. The member
now receives an updated "Confirmation" page
after submitting their information.
Form:
http://marcomensclub.com/email/email-form2.htm
Confirmation:
http://marcomensclub.com/email/thanks2.htm
9) The What's New page continues
to provide good place to start, particularly
if you haven't been to the website in a
while.

ATTENTION
EVENT HOSTS and CLUB OFFICERS: There are two new website features, both
available from the "MMC
OFFICIAL FORMS"
page.
(1)
There's now an improved Excel
spreadsheet for logging in event attendees.
You are encouraged to use this handy tool, even
if you are a beginner spreadsheet person.
The spreadsheet is very smart and does most of
the heavy lifting for you. It will also
allow you to create groups and table
assignments, record meal selections, print a
check-in sheet and print name tags for your
event if needed. You can also login any
expenses you may incur when hosting the event.
There is an
Illustrated Tutorial to help you understand
how to use the spreadsheet. Questions?
Email me at
MARCOMAN357@AOL.COM, or call 239-537-1061
You should always download a fresh copy of
the spreadsheet for each event, in order to get
the latest updates.
How do you get
a copy? From any page in the website click on
"MMC OFFICIAL FORMS" under the BUSINESS tab:
Scroll down to Item #2D, click on the Excel
version you need, and download the copy.
The link to the
Illustrated Tutorial is at the
bottom. See #3. It's a good idea to
read this tutorial, even if you are an Excel
Power User. Here's a screen shot from the
"Forms" webpage.
(2)
There is also now access to many past event flyers
in our 500+ flyer archive.
Check out the new "Past
Events" page. These can be useful in planning new events.
Info about cost, venues, entertainment, time, etc, can all be found on the old flyers. The
link is on the same "MMC Official Forms" page
shown above and below: See item 2G).

Are you having problems with the drop down menus
on our website? Do they open and then
remain open, so that you can see multiple drop
downs at the same time?
The problem seems
to be related the Window 7 users who have
Internet Explorer version 10 installed on their
computers. IE10 was designed for Window 8
and touch screens, but is suposed to work with
Windows 7. However, the internet is buzzing with
problems and conflicts, and lots of folks are
reverting to IE9 which was designed to work with
Windows 7.
IE10 replaces the existing
version of IE (typically IE9) on Windows 7 -- it
does not run alongside it -- but dissatisfied
users can revert to the older edition, IE9,
by uninstalling the IE10 update. Microsoft and
many others have posted instructions for doing
so.
Here's a coupe typical links, but
Google will find many more. It's a pretty
easy process.

May 2012 |
Recently two people have companied that they could not open
the PDF's for the Newsletter and the ones for coming event
flyers. I had a number of other people try
it, and I tried it on different computers with several
different browsers. I could not duplicate the problem.
See solution below from MH. There appears to be an
issue with the program on some computers that opens PDF's,
and the assoicated browser. If anyone else is having
trouble please contact me.

Hi Eddie....Well, I think I found the problem. The files
came in on the lap top but would not come in on the big
computer. So, I deleted the Foxit programs and then it came
in. Then I reinstalled Foxit and it came in just fine. So,
no worry on your part...it was me, or rather our computer!

As you know by now, The Marco
Players has replaced "Bus Stop" with "Last of The Red
Hot Lovers".
I have attached a new flyer.
Please replace Bus Stop with Last of the Red Hot Lovers.
If there is a way that you can
announce on the website that this change has been made
and that the Feb Newsletter is incorrect regarding "Bus
Stop", that would be great.
Thank you,
Randle
